Discuss the Art Photography of the British Linked Ring Brotherhood The term ‘Art Photography’ was not really recognised during the early days of Victorian photography when the camera was employed and regarded as a medium for purely recording and ‘for looking at’ objects and considered a scientific device. ‘Art Photography’ was the name that was given to the work produced by the very few photographers who found themselves interested in producing photographs in the late 1880’s that had other qualities in mind than just recording information like P.H.Emmerson who took pictures that conveyed mood and feelings. The development of photography as art took significant strides forward with the idea of pictorial photography which emerged around 1896 when the Victorian writer and photograopher Henry Peach Robinson identified the camera as a tool for expression and creativity. More simply he argued strongly that it could be an artistic medium, combined with the dark room, equal to the hand and the brush. His work reflected his ideas about pictorialism which were based on the idea that a photographer could produce a picture that reflected the expression of an individual and an artist and in doing this they leave a particular signiture or mark of the artist that the content or style would suggest. He achieved much of his pictorial work through combination printing, a dark room method of developing several seperate images and combining them into one image that appeared to be a single photo, a creative process that is the forefather of today’s universally recognisable computer features â€Å"cut and paste†. One of his most effective and striking photographs and an excellent example of Robinson’s skilled method of combination printing is ‘Fading Away’ where the image is so smooth and so perfectly put together, in particular the shadowy figure at the window, that you can’t imagine it being made up of five prints. The picture also conveys a very real sense of death and with the knowledge that this is a combination print it comes across as though Robinson has assembled his characters and has arranged them in this tableaux to express his idea of death. The ethical issues presented in the Week Three Ethics Game Simulations were from the Mysterious Blogger and The Veiled Id, the ethical issues address in game simulation of â€Å"The Mysterious Blogger† was whether or not the information obtained by IT Tech, Jamal Moore was enough to discipline blogging employee Aaron Webb for violating the NDA policy. The ethical issues for the game simulations for â€Å"The Veiled ID†, was to address how to develop a security policy that would accommodate the special needs and the physical safety of the employees’. The decision-making steps one took to address these issues were based on the position one held in the simulation game one was able to determine the best avenue ethically to approach in order to take action on both issues address in the game. First, this authors decision-making abilities were based on protecting the interest of the shareholders and how these decisions could affect the shareholders in both short and long-term. Ethical issues that arise within an organization or company will not only effect an individual employee, it will affect the company and anyone who has made an investment in the company. Apart from protecting the interest of shareholders and the company, it also comes down to always following company policies and doing the right thing. If a organizations policies are broken in any way, shape or form, this author would be placed in a situation to make the best decision to receive the best outcome in order to maintain discipline and good order within the company or organazation. The ethical perspectives this author utilized to make the decisions for the simulation game were based on the options given in each scenario within the gaming process. Although the simulation did not have any right or wrong answers it did take time for this author to address each scenario with an open mind and take the time to look at different view points before making a decision(s) to see whether or not the answer selected was the best fit for that scenario. The way these ethical perspectives influenced this authors decisions were by determining the values and effects of the stakeholders for both simulation games played The Mysterious Blogger and The Veiled ID. Showing the importance of applying ethical practices and ensuring all employees are held accountable for their actions can be done by one taking the time to figure out a way to minimize dilemmas or issues caused by employees within an organization and handling those dilemmas at the lowest level. The concepts used in the simulation game can relate to this authors workplace, being part of a family construction company many distance family members or friends of friends of the family will take full advantage of the company. A good example of younger family members taking advantage would be leaving the workplace early, using company property outside of the work zone, using the name of the company in supply house to benefit one’s personal needs. One example of this would be a distance cousin of one of the owners was a wonderful working, however after years of working for the company the owner started to receive phone calls from homeowners asking for repairs to be done to brand new systems installed by this distance cousin who were not in the database of the company, come to find out the cousin was doing these jobs on the side using the family business name, buying material using the company credit cards, company vehicle and gas card to get to these locations but none of these new job sites were jobs the owners of the company bid they were all jobs the distant cousin was doing on the side, this is one example of many. What this has done is moved the company away from only hiring family members to hiring outside of the family and only having a few members that work in the field, although everyone in the office is related the men in the field hold the owners on pedisals and this author has not met many employee who do not appreciate the family owned company. The owners continue to prove to each employee family or not that they are needed, the owners go over and bound giving employee advances to help with one’s personal lives, from getting married to buying a car, to smaller needs as in lunches, jackets every winter, making sure they have good work boots, gloves, hats and anything else they made need to safely complete the task at hand.

The three appearances made by the ghost were to be seen and acknowledged, give hamlet his message of revenge, and to remind Hamlet of his duty. First the ghost appeared to be seen and acknowledged.The guards have seen the ghost outside and invited Horatio to see it for himself. They told people it was the old king of Denmark’s ghost. Which was hamlet’s Father. Horatio is one of Hamlet’s friend and also skeptical about there actually being a ghost. But not long after he joined the guards that night he saw the ghost appear. Marcellus, one of the guards, said, â€Å"Thou art a scholar; speak to it, Horatio. † Horatio tried to make it speak but it quickly left. Horatio rushed to go tell Hamlet.Secondly, the ghost appeared to give his message to Hamlet. When Hamlet first saw his father ghost in the courtyard, the ghost wanted him to follow him. The guards warned him the ghost might lead him to his death. But Hamlet was quick to respond that he had no longer wished living for his mother had married his uncle in a matter of weeks after his father’s death. He already felt devastated and betrayed. When the ghost finally spoke to Hamlet, it told him that he was killed out by his garden by his brother Claudius. Who was now king.He tells hamlet to avenge him by killing Claudius but sparing his mother Gertrude and leaving her for God’s judgment. Hamlet vows revenge for his father and sets off on his plan. Thirdly, after the play that was supposed to imitate the killing of his father by Claudius, Hamlet was seeking his mother because she had wanted to talk to him. It was actually a plan made by Claud ius and Polonius for him to give his mother answers about his weird behavior. On his way he saw Claudius praying in the chapel. He wanted to kill him but didn’t because he thought ince he prayed he would go to heaven. He would have to wait till he sinned. When he got to his mother he found Polonius hiding and killed him. He was yelling at her about Claudius not comparing to his father at all and how he was the lowest of low and the ghost appeared again. He told Hamlet to not forget what he was supposed to be doing. Which was killing Claudius. Not bashing his mom and killing Polonius and wasting time. He listens to his father’s ghost, although his mother did not see the ghost, and takes off.He grabs Polonius body to hide it and goes on with his plan. In conclusion, the three appearances by the ghost were made to be seen and acknowledged, give Hamlet his message of revenge, and to remind Hamlet of his duty. William Shakespeare has been a famous author of writing tragedie s like this one here. His writing about the appearance of a ghost gives more life to his writings. The appearances were very interesting, spooky, and a main part in how this writing was achieved.

Well the most challenging obstacle that I had to overcome was the death of my father. My life was turned upside down when it all happened. It greatly impacted me on a physical and mental level. Luckily this challenge taught me to cherish life. It even brought me closer to God and to understand that he has a plan for all of us.It pushed me to become more determined and motivated in any activity I partake in. Our family is much closer now then we were before. His death opened my eyes and my mind to accept the idea that you must live life to the fullest. Not only did it teach me to live life but it showed me how to be confident, strong, respectable to everyone and everything, and how to appreciate the little things in life. This would definitely be the hardest obstacle that I ever had to face in my life. Ever since that faithful day my views on life have changed dramatically. Now I have become more an optimistic individual.Yes, I am more optimistic because now I see the true beauty of the world that I always overlooked. When I see pictures of nature it releases a feeling of sanctity or even solace. I don’t take life for granted anymore, now I strongly believe that every life is precious even the pesky bugs. His leaving revealed that instead of rushing life I should stop every once in a while and take a gander at nature. Like a moment to soak it all in and embrace the true beauty that so much people fail to see. Now I live in the moment instead of worrying what the future brings.This ordeal has brought me a lot more near to God. In my prayers I learned that God needed him and that my father had fulfilled his purpose. I know it sound cliche but it is the truth and no one can tell me differently. Inste ad of resorting to drug I turned to God and he helped me through the pain. In a way God has taken the role of a fatherly figure and I am grateful. I go to church more often and I feel more alive and refreshed. This trial has shown me the love that God has to offer and how he will take care of you when your love ones are gone.God has become an important factor in my life after my dad died. My determination is at the highest point it could be. I have this motivation to strive to become the best I can. I do these things to make my father proud and to honor his legacy. To be honest, if my father was alive today I wouldn’t have fathom the idea of taking Advanced Placement courses. I would have relied on my dad to do everything for me including finding and paying for my college. Now I can proudly say that with this newfound determination I can succeed on my own.For once in my life I am actually studying and pushing myself to the limit on how much I can learn and retain. I was able to turn such a negative situation into a positive by using it to fuel my dreams. When all was finished this traumatic event created a feeling of togetherness. Our family became tighter and closer together. Now we set up family nights where it would either be Mexican night meaning we make Mexican dishes or game night where we battle it out on the Wii. On certain Saturday’s we all would go out to any restaurant mostly Chili’s and sit-down and talk about how our week was.In a sense we come together and evaluate our week and sometimes we even reminisce about him. It is better to remember the good times than to remember what happened that cold December night. His death brought our family together and taught individual to enjoy the times we have left on Earth because you never know when it is your time. The experience I gained was how to be confident in everything I do. I learned how to be strong in times of great distress. I now have the utmost respect for every living thin g. Also, his death allowed me to see how important life is and how we must make the most of it.You always live like it is you last day and always be willing to aid those in need. My father passing away gave me lesson that I hope to pass onto my children. Seeing my father go would have to be the hardest thing that I ever had to overcome. Thanks to God I am standing here stronger than ever. Instead of using this as an excuse I am using this as fuel to empower me. This situation has impacted me physical and mental but I won’t ever let it hold me down. In my heart I know that my father will never accept less so I will aim for the highest peak and ride it out to the end.
