Writing a Good Conclusion in Research Papers
Writing a Good Conclusion in Research PapersConclusions in research papers are an important part of the process of communicating findings. They must be well-considered and original enough to give readers the best possible effect. It is a good idea to do as much research as possible before you write your conclusions.First, you will want to choose a topic for which you will want to write your conclusion. Do not choose something you are already very familiar with. If you are an English major, for example, you may be interested in writing about certain events that happened in your school. However, if you have just finished a philosophy or English paper, you may be interested in writing about a particular philosopher or writer.Second, once you know what you want to say, the next step is to do some research. This may involve searching for information about the topic. As part of your research, you may also wish to research the particular philosopher or writer you are writing about. You will also want to find out about the scholarly literature about the topic in question, and see if there are other papers or articles that deal with the topic.Third, when you have a title for your conclusion, make sure you know who you are writing about. In this case, the name of the particular writer may be extremely important. Research your subject matter thoroughly before you have a name for your conclusion.Fourth, in your conclusion, write a concluding paragraph. Again, keep in mind the name of the writer you are discussing and the name of the subject matter you are discussing. Write a brief statement that will summarize the main points of your paper.Fifth, after you have written your concluding paragraph, write a closing paragraph. Again, remember the name of the writer or subject matter you are discussing. To close, explain why you think your conclusion is the right one. Conclusions in research papers are difficult to write and they can be time consuming. Remember, though, that your conclusion should be completely original, and convey all of the reader's attention and interest.
